Hydrogen Fuel
The universe we
reside on ,is mainly constituted of 75% Hydrogen approximately.Hydrogen is the
simplest atom that has been found uptil now.It is not usually found in it's
pure state. So,in order to purify certain amount of energy is required.Once
manufactured,Hydrogen acts as an energy carrier and stores formed by other
means. This drives us into a new era in automotive industry i.e,HYDROGEN FUEL.
In 1970,the chemist
John Bockris coined the term Hydrogen Fuel.An important step regarding this
technology has been introduction of device namely Fuel Cell.A fuel cell
combines hydrogen and oxygen. Both convert energy produced by chemical reaction
into electric power.Fuel cells are a promising technology. Many prominent car
manufacturers like Volkswagon, Chevrolet have already employed the concept of
Hydrogen Fuel.
In 2003,American
president Bush announced a programme called Hydrogen Fuel Initiative (HFI)
during his state of Union Address. This initiative supported by legislation in
Energy Policy Act 2005 which will ensure provision of Hydrogen cars with the
replacement of ordinary cars till 2020.
This technology has
the capability of being highly efficient and recyclable as well.It has,by
far, been most eco-friendly which will conserve our environment too.The exhaust
given out by such cars is of staem which will not result in pollution and
ensure a healthy environment. The overall efficiency of such cars is found more
than that of ordinary cars. With the provision of pure Hydrogen, efficiency would
reach upto 80% increment.
Hydrogen powered
vehicles are more economical, from a costumers point of view.Much more safety
can be attained by Hydrogen fuel as it avoids unwanted explosions caused by
fossil fuels.
Hydrogen
cars replacing ordinary one's is the need of the hour yet a distant
dream.Hydrogen powered vehicles promise a bright scope in Pakistan. The time is
near when such technology will swap the automotive industry.Follow me twitter.com/nedian123 on Twitter and join my facebook fanpage facebook.com/za.blogs
